Christmas is Near - Paskong Pinoy

Few more days to go, it's Christmas time again. It's been 5 years have passed since I go abroad, I really missed the Philippines mostly how Filipinos celebrate Christmas Eve. Nothing compares to it. All families are gathered together in welcoming the birth of our Lord Almighty, Jesus Christ. There is an exchange gifts, carols, Christmas decorations (Christmas Tree, lantern, Christmas lights) and most of all the Noche Buena - wherein a variety of foods are prepared.
I remember my childhood, wherein our nochebuena is always served with Ham, queso debola (cheese ball) and Leche Flan. Also fruit salad, spaghetti, pancit, shanghai roll and ube espesyal (purple yam) is not missing. That's "Paskong Pinoy" as we say in our language.

Craving For Desserts (Panghimagas)

I'm fond to eat sweets especially chocolates, but still nothing compares with the superb taste of Philippines desserts. Philippines is well-known when it comes to sweets, that's one of the Filipinos proud of. Even though some of the desserts takes time and needs to exert more effort to finish its cooking. Like Ube Halaya it will take several hours to prepare; your shoulder will have muscular fatigue just for stirring it, but in the end you'll achieve the mouthwatering outcome. An outcome that will makes you proud of yourself and share with your family and friends.

So, lets continue to have our desserts with pride. Check it out on Philippines Food - Desserts page.
